Project Description
This project included the ground up construction of a 151,798 square foot Walmart Supercenter on a 28 acre site in Meridian, ID. This project involved extensive earthwork with 11 onsite seepage beds (underground storm water management areas) totaling 201,183 square feet to manage all of the storm water onsite and 4 temporary infiltration ponds totaling 21,330 square feet to manage the storm water from each future outlot. The earthwork also included changing the farming irrigation ditch that ran through the site to an underground pipe, a sewage lift station and a reclaimed water landscaping irrigation system. This project was comprised of exposed slab on grade concrete, CMU walls, stone veneer, structural steel, steel joists, metal decking, architectural woodwork, EIFS, concrete roof tiles, metal roof panels, TPO roofing, aluminum framed storefront and automatic sliding doors, fire protection, mechanical, plumbing, siphonic roof drain system, refrigeration, and electrical. This project included an Auto Center, Garden Center, Pharmacy, Bakery, Deli, Grocery and tenant spaces. This project also included intersection improvements at Chinden Blvd (Hwy 22/26) and Ten Mile Rd. A new traffic light and illumination were installed and the farming irrigation water lines were revised to separate the irrigation water from the storm water. 1400 linear feet of 12 feet deep sand window was installed to manage the storm water runoff from the street. This work involved coordinating between the Idaho Transportation Depart (ITD) who has jurisdiction over Chinden Blvd and Ada County Highway District (ACHD) who has jurisdiction over Ten Mile Rd.
