PDX9 (Project Piper)

Project Description

Breaking ground Spring of 2017, PDX9 (known as Project Piper during construction) is a 857,470 square foot distribution center on a 74 acre site in the Reynolds Industrial Park of Troutdale, Oregon. PDX9 was built with over 11,000 tons of structural steel and 63,000 cubic yards of concrete.  The building shell is concrete tilt-up construction, utilizing 163 tilt panels with a finished clear height of 41’.  It has three levels of mezzanine totaling 1,457,092 square feet, making the total square footage of the building 2,314,562 square feet. The building’s tenant required four 4,000 amp services. Some of the site’s security included gated entry and six security turnstiles at building entry. A 59,890 square foot office build-out was also completed for Amazon. The build-out also included the building’s automation system which operated approximately 13 miles of conveyor systems and 175 miles of Cat6 and Fiber cabling. The completed PDX9 site has 2,500 car parking spaces, 276 trailer parking spaces, and over 60 loading docks.
