A large Tacoma-area auto dealer, Titus-Will Ford, has begun a major remodeling project that will add 50 percent new space in its showroom, double its customer waiting area and create a climate-controlled service reception area.
The multi-million-dollar project, when complete early next year, will add a new automated car wash to the dealership along with a new truck service area.
The work on the Ford store at 3606 S. Sprague Avenue near the Tacoma Mall will update the 1968 building designed by Tacoma architect Alan Liddle.
“The trick is blending old with new,” said Graham Tash, Titus-Will Ford’s chief executive. “Working with Helix Design and Sierra Construction, we’ve come up with a plan to maximize both.”
The company said it plans to do the remodeling in phases to allow the store to function normally during construction.
The Ford store remodeling is the latest in a series of updates at Titus-Will Auto Group dealerships. Titus-Will updated it Tacoma’s Toyota dealership in 2010, its Lakewood Ford in 2007 and commissioned significant renovations to Titus-Will Chevrolet in Parkland in 2013 and Titus-Will Chevrolet-Cadillac-Buick-GMC in Olympia in 2012.
