New Hire: Joshua McNeely

McNeely intro

Please welcome the newest member of our IT department, Joshua McNeely!

He started in IT over 15 years ago. "Before getting into IT I did random jobs from retail to HVAC to veterinary work to call centers. Once I got into IT, I spent the last 16 years developing my skills while working for Westward Seafoods. I heard of Sierra through Katelyn, my sister-in-law. She always talked about how great this place was to work and so I always told her to throw my hat in the ring if she heard they were hiring for IT. The actual industry isn't as important to me as the challenges available in the job. Being in IT keeping people connected and able to move forward with their job is the name of the game, regardless of the industry."

What is the best advice you have ever heard?
Don't let the failures of your past keep you from trying in the future.

Favorite places to travel, or somewhere you would like to go?
So far Hawaii has been my favorite vacation I've taken. The dream, however, is to travel Europe and Asia.

Tell us something that might surprise us about you.
People always seem to be surprised that I'm about to turn 40 and have two boys, 15 and 17.

Favorite book you have ever read?
There are too many to name, but The Night Circus always pops into my head when someone asks this question, so I'll go with that.

What is something you couldn't live without?
My wife. Honestly that sounds silly, but she's my rock and keeps me moving forward even in the bad times.
