New Hire: Dave Martinez

NH Martinez

Please welcome Superintendent Dave Martinez!

Dave joins the Sierra family after spending his career in the construction industry. "I have always been attracted to building things and working outside. I was a Superintendent at GLY Construction, running a Special Projects team of five Superintendents and five General Foreman. I heard about Sierra through a Superintendent that worked for me whom happens to have gone to High School with Andy Bley and are good friends." We are excited to have you here with us!

What would you be doing if you weren't in construction?

I would probably be a teacher. My whole family is in the education field.

Top three life highligts?

  1. Adopting my kiddos
  2. Marrying my wife now of 25 years
  3. Taking a team of misfit 9 and 10 year old rec hockey players, that no one else wanted to coach and having great success during the season. 25-2 League record, winning 2 tournaments and second in 2.

What is your favorite thing to do with your kids?

I coach my youngest sons hockey team and help out with my oldest daughter's team as well. Hockey is a year round sport so spend a lot of time at the rink with them. We also enjoy Upland bird hunting with the dogs as well. THe kiddos also enjoy attending my softball tournaments and rooting on dad.

What are your three most overused words or phrases?

  1. Let me break it down for you
  2. Does that make sense?
  3. My favorite coaching line - Try harder don't suck
